Adam Anderson (1692 or 1693 – 10 January 1765) was a Scottish economist. He was a clerk for forty years in South Sea House, the headquarters of the South Sea Company, where he published a work entitled ''Historical and Chronological Deduction of the Origin of Commerce from the Earliest Accounts to the Present Time, containing a History of the Great Commercial Interests of the British Empire'' (1762, 2 vols. fol.). Late in his life Anderson traveled to the American colonies, begetting a son, Adam E. Anderson, later noted for being an early settler and planner of the Ohio Territory. ==References==
